Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is recognized by the world as the Golden Land. It is one of the earliest homes of mankind, where one can have exclusive experiences of a life-time.

Brief itinerary:    

Day 1: Arrival Yangon. City tour
Day 2: Yangon – flight to Mandalay
Day 3: Mandalay – Mingun – Ava – Amarapura - Mandalay
Day 4: Mandalay – Mont Popa - Bagan
Day 5: Bagan. Guided tour
Day 6: Bagan. Free visit
Day 7: Bagan - Pindaya
Day 8: Pindaya - Inle
Day 9: Inle – Heho – flight to Yangon
Day 10: Yangon – Departure.

Detailled itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival Yangon. City tour
On arrival at the airport, you are met by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Visit Yangon: Walking through the old colonial quarters, visit the Sule Pagoda, the Chauk Htat Gyi Reclining Buddha and the Scott Market. Late afternoon visit the Shwedagon Pagoda. Shwedagon is the most sacred pagoda as it enshrines the relics of the three earlier buddhas and the eight hairs of Gautama Buddha, it rises 99.4 meters and glittering in gold. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Yangon – flight to Mandalay
After breakfast, transfer to airport for the flight Yangon-Mandalay. On arrival in Mandalay, a vehicle is waiting for you to drive you to the city. The first visit of the second-largest city and the last royal capital of Burma depend on the arrival time. Visit the Mahamuni Buddha Temple, discovery of the Gold Leaf Manufacture, Shwenandaw Monastery, it’s a monastery made entire out of teak wood with beautiful intricate carvings. Visit the Kuthodaw Paya, Kyauktawgyi paya temple, Sandamuni paya and the Mandalay hill: it’s a 230-meters hill located near Mandalay. On the hill, you will have a panoramic view on the fortress and the whole city. Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Mandalay – Mingun – Ava – Amarapura – Mandalay
After breakfast, cruise on the Irrawaddy River until Mingun village. The Mingun temple is a monumental uncompleted, due to an astrologer who claimed that, once the temple was finished, the king would die. Then a carriage tour in the old princely town of Ava. On the way back, stop in Amarapura and crosse the U Bein bridge. Amarapura is a township of Mandalay, bounded by the Ayeyarwady River in the west. Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Mandalay – Mount Popa – Bagan
After breakfast, drive to Bagan. Stop at Mount Popa, a sacred mountain that dominates the Myingyan from the top of its 737 meters. Mount Popa is a place for pilgrimage, it is the largest worship place of the Nats in the country. Quick Tour of Mount Popa or the Flower Mountain. Continue driving to Bagan. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel

Day 5: Bagan. Guided tour
After breakfast, visit the most beautiful sites of Bagan - an ancient city in the Mandalay Division of Burma: Sche Zi Gone pagoda, Mingalazedi Pagoda, Sulamani Temple, Ananda, Myinkaba Gu Byauk Gyi, de Thatbyinnyu, Gawtawpalin, Dhammayan Gyi….
Continue to visit the Burma Lacquer factory in New-Bagan and the Archaeological Museum.Sunset over the Pha That Kyi Temple. Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at Nandar restaurant while watching the puppet show. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Bagan. Free visit
After breakfast at hotel, you have free time for visit Bagan as you wish. You can also rend a bike or carriages or make a balloon fly. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Bagan – Pindaya
After the breakfast at hotel, road departure from Bagan to Pindaya – capital of the Danu people. The road crosses the plains of the Irrawaddy valley before climbing the foothills of the Shan plateau to reach Kalaw and Pindaya, a village which is spread around a lake with shady banks of Banias centuries. In the evening you can walk in the village of Pindaya. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Pindaya – Inle lake
After breakfast, discovery of the famous caves with the 8000 buddha who were placed there by pilgrims over the centuries. Then you will visit a handicraft production of Shan Paper. After that, departure from Pinday to Nyaung Shwe. It’s a town a few kilometers north of Inle Lake in the Shan State of Myanmar. On road you will visit the Shwe Yan Pyay monastery. The red painted, teak-wood building is an interesting architectural structure on its own. Then take a motorized pirogue to visit the Inle Lake. It’s a freshwater lake. Although not a large lake, there are a number of endemic species. Over twenty species of snails and nine species of fish are found nowhere else in the world. Visit the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the Jumping Cat Monastery, the Indein Village and the the silk-weaving village In Paw Khon. Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9: Inle – Heho – flight to Yangon
Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the airport (Heho) for the flight to Yangon. Transfer to your hotel in Yangon. Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Yangon – Departure
Free Day in Yangon. Lunch and dinner on your own. Transfer to the airport for your departure. End of the trip.

Food/ Water: The Vietnamese cuisine is healthy, copious and fine. Westerners will find common ground with their daily food, but also typical Asian tastes.
For water, we recomment you buy bottled water (mineral water or purified). Please note that the tap water in hotels is not always drinkable.
