Detailled itinerary:

Arrive at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi. Transfer to hotel.
In the afternoon, visit Vietnam Museum of Ethnology where contains more than 10,000 objects which depict all aspects of life, customs, and habits of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam. Proceeding to visit Viet Nam Fine Arts Museum, you would interest about Classical and Contemporary masterpiece of Vietnam from thousand years. A moment of relax and enjoy yourself at Hoan Kiem lake, there is the most lovely Hanoi landscape in the late afternoon, and sunset. Finally, early evening is the time of water puppet show (1 hour), a unique art form of Vietnamese, at Thang Long Water Puppet Troupe theatre, and you will experience more about a specific culture in South-East Asia coming from the civilization of the agriculture of wet rice during the performance. Have lunch & dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Ha Noi.

Day 2: HA NOI - CHO RA - BA BE (B, L, D)
Departure for Ba Be, passing through the mountainous region of Tonkin. There are superb landscapes with terraced rice fields and bamboo paddle wheels on both river banks. Have lunch at local restaurant. Upon arrival at Cho Ra, take a boat on Nang river that meanders along a bucolic landscape before entering the steep chalky cliffs whose hillsides are characterised by small wild gardens, hanging lianas and long roots reaching deep into the earth.Sometimes, the jungle, the silver marbled trunks and the old trees that twist above the river swallow the earthy mounds. From another view, it is a spectacle of fishing. The shrimp cages stake out the course of the river. Then we enter Puong Cave. The river flowing through the cave brings us to a wonderful site to enjoy the stalactites by foot. We continue going by boat to Pac Ngoi, a village of the Tay ethnic group situated not far from the lake on the hillside. The Tay live on fishing and rice and corn cultivation. Their stilt houses with thatched roofs are dispersed in the surrounding landscape. Dinner and overnight at inhabitants’ house.

Day 3 : BA BE (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we first take a 2-hour walk to the Lung Quang villages of the Tay, Keo Mo, and Dao people. You can enjoy a beautiful mountain landscape with rice terraces, stilt houses, buffaloes, ducks, etc.  We continue to walk for 2 hours on a small trail to visit other villages in Lom Ban and Ban Qua. Having a picnic in such a peaceful environment is wonderful. Then we walk 2 more hours through the Ban Chay Lung Coc villages to arrive at the Pac Ngoi village. Dinner and overnight at inhabitants’ house.

Day 4 : BA BE – CAO BANG (B, L, D)
We take a boat ride in the fairy-like ambience of Ba Be lake, “the lake of three seas” that stretches on for 9 km with a width from 100 to 1800m and depth of 145 m. It is located at the foot of 3 valleys that join together in a bow circle. Ba Be is not only a site for the imagination, but also for nature lovers. Over forty species of mammals live there, as well as hundreds of species of birds and butterflies. You can visit Dau Dang cascade and a village of the Dao ethnic group. Have lunch at local restaurant. Then we leave for Cao Bang, a small town in the far northwest of the country. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Cao Bang.

Day 5 : CAO BANG – LANG SON (B, L, D)
The course is characterized by its very rugged aspect. This is a series of passes, gorges and ridges amid thick tropical vegetation. This road is known as Route Coloniale No. 4, which was the site of major fighting between the French and Viet Minh in Autumn of 1950 in the Border Battle. Continue to Lang Son through a road winding up the valley of the Ky Cung River, a tributary of the river of Canton-China. Admire beautiful views over the river, crops and the surrounding rocky peaks. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Lang Son.

Day 6 : LANG SON – HA LONG (B, L, D)
Lang Son, a small border town  devastated by the Chinese in 1979, awoke at the beginning of 90s with the reopening of border trade between China and Viet Nam. Visit the morning central market Dong Kinh, the temple-cave Tam Thanh, and the Mountain of the Woman who expects her husband. Depart for Ha Long. Arrive at Bai Chay around noon. Ha Long is a World Heritage site, as recognized by UNESCO in 1994. Upon arrival, check-in on board the sailing Junk. HALONG BAYis nearly a hidden bay with thousands of limestone islands densely rising from the blue jade water in a sea area of over 1500 square kilometres. Its 1969 green islands enfeeble the strong winds blowing from the ocean to leave the transparent water of the bay often calm in cool and healthy air From time to time, sailing Junk appearing and disappearing between the islands make the poetic sight more colourful like sparkling pearls or coral reefs found out in thebay. The beauty of the bay is not monotonous, at different positions of viewing; it will astonish viewers with quite different fascinations. In the caves and grottoes of stone islands, you will discover and admire how many impressive stalactites and stalagmites. The caves have strange but very accurate names, stop-over to visit the caves which their own legends in their names as Thien Cung (Heaven Palace) grotto, Sung Sot (Surprising) grotto, your sailing Junk will continue to visit around the shapely islets of fighting cock, incense-burner and others. Landing in Titop Islet, there is the calm and so clean sand & transparent beaches, somewhat little rocky mountains and a beautiful tall terrace, enjoy sun-sea bathing there that always waits to give you the most wonderful sea bathing in calm, transparent water under the sunlight. Enjoy a traditional lunch and dinner with the freshest and finest seafood. Overnight on board.

Day 7 : HALONG-  CAT BA (B, L, D)
After a night on the bay, you awaken to see daylight filtering through the early morning mist and towering rock formations. After International Breakfast Buffet, visit beautiful limestone grotto then back to the boat for a final glimpse of the Halong Bay while cruising back to the dock. After you make the extension by ordinary boat to the island of Cat Ba. You will discover Cat Ba national park that includes humid forests, inshore mangrove swamps, numerous small fresh water lakes, sandy beaches and reefs of beautiful coral. It is the home for 28 pieces of mammal, 37 pieces of bird, 20 pieces of reptile and 200 pieces of fish. There you will find a rare tree «stick tree». It is named following its wood, which is reactive with the poisonous foods and often used to manufacture the sticks utilized in the court. You can visit a fishing village, the market of fish. But especially, you will have an impressive memory of Cat Ba with the lifestyle of its local fishers and the magnificent sites. Have dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Cat Ba.

In the morning, visit the fishing port and Cat Ba fish market. After lunch, depart for Haiphong by hydrofoil. On arrival in Haiphong, you will be picked up for a short visit to the city in French style - well known for its streets and avenues lined with flamboyant figures. Visit Du Hang Pagoda. Continue the route to Hanoi. Have lunch & dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Ha Noi.

The Perfume Pagoda is one of the highlights of the Hanoi area and one of the most important religious sites in Buddhist Vietnam. Every spring, after the Vietnamese New Year, thousands of Vietnamese pilgrims come here to pray for all the health and prosperity they need to get them through the year. The pagoda itself is situated in a huge cave built into limestone cliffs and can only be reached by boat as there are no roads. You glide along scenic waterways and walk up steep mountain paths, visiting the pagodas and temples built in this area over the centuries. 07H30 am. Depart for the Perfume Pagoda- The Buddhism holy land. On arrival take a rowing boat along Yen stream, stop over at Trinh Temple. From the landing, walk up to the Perfume Pagoda, which is located inside Huong Tich grotto (you can choose: going by cable car or on foot). Walk back for lunch.
Afternoon: Visit the Thien Tru Pagoda before a boat ride back to the wharf. After drive to Hoa Binh. Have lunch & dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Hoa Binh

Day 10 : HOA BINH - MAI CHAU (B, L, D)
Depart for Mai Chau, through beautiful landscapes of mountains planted with tea. Short stop at Muong Bo Cho village. Continue to Mai Chau. We finally left the flat land of the Delta to the mountainous region. The rice terraces first appear, lined with banana groves. The habitat is also radically changing . The countryside is dotted with cottages, among which Muong’s Houses are recognized by their pan cute roofs  and short stilts. Arrive in the serene Mai Chau valley around noon. It is a beautiful puzzle with rice fields cultivated by the White Thais, including hamlets which are scattered around the village. Visit two villages Lac and Van where expert fingers of Thai White women make all kinds of weavings. They are based on combinations of diamonds and a variety of wild silk. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the inhabitants’ houses. Evening: dance show with Khène and abundance of rice wine.

Day 11 : MAI CHAU - SON LA - DIEN BIEN (B, L, D)
Drive to Dien Bien via Son La. En route, visit superb landscapes of mountains, green valleys of rice paddies and villages of Black Thai Minority… Have lunch & dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Dien Bien

Day 12 : DIEN BIEN – HA NOI (B, L, D)
The name Dien Bien Phu will always be linked with a historical battle, for it was here that Viet Minh soldiers overran a French garrison on May 7, 1954 and ended French colonialism in Indochina. To achieve this legendary victory, Vietnamese forces under the command of General Vo Nguyen Giap dismantled heavy anti-aircraft guns, lugged them up the sleep slopes overlooking the town of Dien Bien Phu and reassembled them. Encircled by artillery, theFrench could not receive supplies or reinforcements. Today, most visitors who reach this outpost come for the history. But along with the old army headquarters, a museum and monuments, Dien Bien Phu offers pristine mountain scenery and fascinating minority cultures. Those who go overland will travel through some of Vietnam's most rugged and spectacular mountains.You will be transferred to the Dien Bien airport in time for your flight to Ha Noi, upon arrival in Ha Noi you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Have lunch & dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Ha Noi.

After breakfast, you will enjoy a full day tour of Hanoi, let experience the basic concepts of political Vietnam currently by visit to the Ba Dinh National square, One Pillar Pagoda. A nice group picture should photo in the parade yard of Ba Dinh National square with the great back view of Ho Chi Minh mausoleum. Continuing to visit Tran Quoc Pagoda & Quan Thanh Temple are located on an islet of West Lake. Follow up, visit the Temple of Literature, is a classic Confucians temple from the category "Confucianism", was founded as a Confucian Temple and a huge statue and altar to Confucius remain there today, the first university in Viet Nam was founded here and many rows and rows of big stone slabs that sat on the backs of stone tortoises. These slabs are actually the stele of the school's successful doctorate candidates. In the afternoon, enjoy an interesting tour by traditional Pedicabs, the best and most stylish way as far more charming to see Hanoi and to take in the sights and sounds of the Old quarter is by Cycle (a tricycle). You will enjoy 1 hour cycle tour the Old Quarter and shopping streets to watch the daily lives of the people living on and around the busy areas, the small rickshaws will carry you strolling around the Old Quarter and shopping streets, to relax and view to daily-life surrounding or communicating is a good way to have a full impression of the city, catch the spirit of Vietnam. Rickshaws will return at the Garden of Hoan Kiem Lake- the Return-Sword Lake, to visit Ngoc Son– Heroic Temple, But Tower, where you will be fascinating with legendary stories from 600 years that a turtle stole a king's sword and took it to the bottom of this lake. Have lunch & dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Ha Noi.

Depending on your flight, you may have time at leisure before you will be transferred to the airport in time for your departing flight. End of service.
