  • Day 1
    Arrival at Hanoï
    Hanoi, or its historical name entitled "Thang Long" which means "dragon in flight", was the main feudal capital of the country for hundreds of years, from the Ly Dynasty (in the 11th century) to the Dynasty of Le posterior (at the end of the 17th century). That is why until now the city of Hanoi still keeps the historical, traditional and typical monuments of Vietnamese culture and the immortal values of Hanoi people spirit. 

    Arrival at Noi Bai / Hanoi airport. Transfer to the hotel. Visit of Hanoi "The city located on the Red River". Walk in the residential area where are the former Palace of the Governor General of Indochina, the house and the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, the single pillar pagoda. Then the temple of Mount Jade, ride rickshaw in the old district guilds.

    Lunch and dinner in town. Night at the hotel.

    Hanoi – Halong
    Halong Bay is known as the 8th wonder of the world thanks to its magnificent landscapes, its superb caves, its pure air and rich of biodiversity. With an area of 1500km2, more than 3000 limestone islands, Halong Bay is truly a surprising destination. Explore Halong Bay on the Oriental Sails Cruise - one of the best 3-star cruises in Halong Bay.

    08:00 - 08:30 Departure in 3.5 hours at Hon Gai International Port, visit the private waiting room of Oriental Sails JSC - The OS Lounge.
    12h30 - 13h00 Welcome aboard, embark on oriental sails followed by a cruise briefing.
    13:00 - 15:30 Enjoy local seafood while Eastern Sails sail along the limestone islands of Bai Tu Long Bay.
    15h30 – 16h30 Visit of the fishing village

    They are interested in local daily life: Take a trip by wooden oar boat (about 45 minutes) around the fishing village of Vung Vieng - one of the largest fishing villages in Halong Bay to see the life of local fishermen. The village is located in a closed lagoon, surrounded by mountains, excellent facilities for good photos. It is a chance to know better the daily life of the fishermen of the village. After the visit, you could swim around the boat.

    16h30 - 17h30 Come back to Les Voiles Orientales and get some rest while the sun begins to set.
    17: 30-19: 00 Enjoy Happy Hour at the bar and on the solarium and join our cooking class with Oriental Sails Chef
    19:00 Dinner is served. Participation in other activities, night squid fishing or singing activities are available until 22:00.

  • Day 3
    Halong – Hanoi
    If Hanoi was Thang Long, "Flight of the Dragon", Halong Bay, "Descent of the Dragon", and its unreal chaos of rocky peaks, the fruit of the frolics of this beast, mistress of the waters. The ghostly pitons cutting the horizon into bluish teeth or sunken mountains, of which only the summits emerge, caverns and caves where the waves disappear, game of mists and clouds, inland seas. The most singular is that these strange-shaped hills seem to float on the surface of the water, as their base is gnawed and that everywhere the silence of this sea spreads, sometimes broken by the cry of a sea bird.

    06h30 - 07h00 Start your day with a Tai Chi exercise on the terrace.
    07h00 - 09h00 Catch the morning view on the seascapes with a cup of tea or coffee, have breakfast cruise to Thien Canh Son Cave.
    09:00 - 09:30 Visit Thien Canh Son Cave - the medium-sized and less visited cave in Bai Tu Long Bay
    09h30 - 10h00 Restitution of the cabins. Luggage can be delivered to reception.
    10:00 - 11:00 Return to the port. Have lunch on board.
    12:00 pm: Landing of the eastern sails
    12:00 - 16:30: Return to Hanoi.

    Hanoi – Night train for Lao Cai
    Continuation of the visit of Hanoi: the temple of the Great Genius and the pagoda of the Defense of the Fatherland located at the edge of the great West Lake, the temple of the literature (1st Vietnamese University of the 11th century); the museum of ethnography.

    Lunch and dinner in town.

    Then transfer to Hanoi train station for the night train to Lao Cai - Sapa / KING EXPRESS train (or LIVITRANS EXPRESS, or CHAPA EXPRESS) - Cabin 4 berths / Departure 20:40. Night on board.

    Lao Cai – Sapa
    Meet at Lao Cai station and transfer to Sapa. Arriving at Sapa, the French settlers, attracted by the climate and the beauty of the landscape, had made Sapa a mountain resort. The city is located at 1650m, at the bottom of Mount Fanxipan highest point of Vietnam at 3142m.

    After breakfast, start visiting Sapa by the Dragon Maw Hill, the Orchid Garden, the old Sapa Church, the market.

    Sa Pa
    Walking day from Sapa to Ta Van and Lao Chai villages. You will have beautiful rice terraces to see throughout the trip. Dinner in town. Night at the hotel.

  • Day 7
    Sa Pa – Bac Ha – Lao Cai – Night train for Hanoi
    Quaint, authentic and colorful: Bac Ha Weekly fair held on Sunday mornings.

    Between 7 am and 9 am, roads and mountain tracks are very lively. There, a peasant pulls his donkey who does not want to move forward. Here, another holds a piglet at the end of a leash by pushing it with a bamboo whip. Others, wiser, prefer to carry the little pigs on the platform to avoid losing weight on the way to the fair. Some go by couple, the woman carrying on the back the stack of hoods that she braided, the man the jerry can of alcohol that he distilled. They put on their best clothes. Turbans of all shapes, red, blue or black, cross simpler chests planted with fresh tea leaves or embellished with silver coins. The colorful H'mong women and girls have donned their finest skirts, all folded, swinging right and left at every step, making grandmothers look like children. The tunics are finely embroidered and the aprons shimmering.

    The sellers offer basic necessities (groceries, books and school supplies, toiletries, haberdashery), relayed, according to rotations which differ, by the peasants who came to sell their production (vegetables, breeding, handicrafts). Finally women calculate the benefit of the day or compare the products, the girls are beautiful, the men clink at the rice alcohol while discussing horses and land. After lunch in Bac Ha, walk to visit hamlets around Bac Ha: Ban Pho 1 and Ban Pho 2, inhabited by ethnic H'mong variegated. Visit the abandoned house of Huang A Tuong, a former H'mong chief.

    Dinner at Lao Cai. Then transfer to Lao Cai Station and take the night train Lao Cai - Ha Noi / train KING EXPRESS (or LIVITRANS EXPRESS or CHAPA EXPRESS) - Cabin with 4 berths for categories STANDARD & SUPERIOR; Cabin with 2 berths for DELUXE category / Departure 19h 30. Night on board.

    Hanoi – Tam Coc
    Arrival at Hanoi station around 5:00 am Reception and transfer to the hotel.

    After breakfast, departure by road to Tam Coc which is located in a region called Ninh Binh. Stroll in small boats through spectacular landscapes of rice fields, caves and hills (2 to 3 hours). After lunch there, continue to visit the 3 Bich Dong pagodas which are located on the hillside.

    Return to Ha Noi. Dinner in town and night at the hotel.

    Hanoi – Hue
    Transfer to Noi Bai airport and flight to Hue.

    Arrival and visit of Hue, ancient capital of the feudal emperors of the Nguyen of the 19th century. It has the most luxurious palaces and royal tombs of Southeast Asia, the most delightful gardens. With the perfume river, the harmonious hills, Hue is still the city of poetry. Visit of the Imperial City, the Old Quarter of Traders and the Dong Ba Central Market.

    Boat cruise on the perfume river to visit the pagoda of the Celestial Lady with its famous octagonal tower overlooking the river, the tombs Minh Mang, Khai Dinh, Tu Duc in an enchanting site planted with pines and dotted with ponds.

  • Day 11
    Hue – Da Nang – Hoi An
    Drive to Da Nang and Hoi An. Pass on Cloud Pass, a spectacular mountain road. In Da Nang (Ex-Tourane), visit Cham Museum which contains the largest collection of Cham sculptures in the world. Continue to Hoi An, a village of unique charm that was, under the name of FaiFo, one of the most prosperous ports of Asia of the 17th century. The architecture of Chinese temples, pagodas and homes of wealthy merchants is remarkable. City Tour: Central Market, Tan Ky House, Japanese Bridge, Phuc Kien Temple. In the late afternoon: Boat trip on the Thu Bon River for the direction Cua dai mouth.

    Hoi An – Da Nang – Sai Gon
    Long day trip across the city Tuy Hoa. Stop to visit the tower of the Swallow. This route is dominated by the mountains of the Annamitan Cordillera under the curves of the coast along beautiful beaches such as Dai Lanh (former Cape Varella).

    Arrival in Nha Trang. Lunch and dinner in town. Night at the hotel.

    Nha Trang
    After breakfast at your hotel, you will leave for the Mekong Delta, the vast and fertile full which constitutes the rice granary of Vietnam. Arrival at Cai Be, welcome cocktail, presentation of the boat and its crew, installation in the cabins. Direction Cho Lach, downstream from the Tien Giang River.

    Lunch on board during the journey. Rest on the upper deck next to the bar. Bifurcation in the Cho Lach canal in 30 minutes through rice and sandbank traffic and in a setting or thousands of dry fruits surrounded by shipyards. Visit a village on the bank of the Mang Thit River, an opportunity to get closer to the local way of life and the hospitality of the people of the region. Visit the orchards and rice fields around. Re-boarding, welcome cocktail upon return on board. Rest on the bridge watching the sunset.

    Tra On – Can Tho – Saigon
    Breakfast will be available from 6:30 am as the boat sails the Tra On Floating Market to the Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho. Restitution of the cabins and transfer on a lighter boat to visit the market, streams and orchards. Back to Ninh Kieu wharf. Landing. Lunch then drive to Saigon. Arrival in Saigon and check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Saigon.
