    Arrival at Vientiane

    Vientiane – Luang Prabang
    After breakfast, free time before transfer to the airport for your morning flight to Luang Prabang. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival.

    In the afternoon, discover the former Royal Palace (closed on Tuesday) now converted into a National Museum where you will admire the Pra Bang, golden Buddha who gave his name to the city, the attributes of power royal, bronze drums, etc ... You will continue with the Vat Mai, a temple renowned for its gilded bas-reliefs counting the life of one of the reincarnations of the Buddha. It is in this monastery that the image of Prabang is displayed on the occasion of the festivals of Pimai, Lao New Year. Then Wat Sene, whose golden facade instantly catches the eye. You will also climb the 328 steps up to Mount Phousi to enjoy the panoramic view of the city at sunset. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at the hotel.

    Luang Prabang- Pak Ou – Luang Prabang
    Optional: very early in the morning, around dawn, you can see the long lines of Bonzes coming out of their pagoda and walk the streets to receive food offerings from the faithful. A unique show that takes place every day of the year...

    After breakfast, you will admire the splendor of Vat Xieng Thong, richly decorated and located at the confluence of the Nam Khan and Mekong before embarking on a local boat for a trip up the Mekong to the sacred caves of Pak Ou. The two caves, also called Tham Ting by locals, are home to thousands of Buddha statues of various sizes. The caves are the subject of processions and pilgrimages during great festivities. Return to Luang Prabang and have lunch.

    In the afternoon, visit Vat Visoun, completely rebuilt according to the sketches of Delaporte following the invasion, the looting and the destruction of the city in 1887 by the "Black Pavilions", pirates coming from the South of France.     After breakfast, excursion to Kuang Si Falls. Stop in two ethnic villages along the way. Possibility to swim on site (bring swimsuit and towel). Picnic at the falls or return to Luang Prabang for lunch (optional). In the afternoon, visit a weavers' village as well as homemade mulberry paper workshops in Xang Khong and Wat Xieng Lek. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at the hotel.
