  • Day 1
    Arrival at Vientiane
    On arrival, welcome by your guide and transfer to your hotel. The current capital of Laos, unlike its neighbors Bangkok and Hanoi has retained its quiet appearance and a human size. The Wat Sisaket temple, dating from 1818, one of the most beautiful and important of the capital. It is the only one not to have been destroyed during the Siamese invasion and it includes traditional parts of the Laotian monastery. Wat Ho Phra Keo, where you can admire beautiful pieces that are one of the main riches of Laotian art. The Patuxai, a small triumphal arch that sits at the northern end of Lane Sang Street and visit That Luang, the country's most popular monument, is both a religious symbol and a symbol of the unity of the country.   • Day 2
    Vientiane – Pakse – Wat Phou – Kong Island
    Breakfast, morning at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight to Pakse (daily flight in high season, except Monday & Thursday in low season). Arrival in Pakse, boarding a local boat for a quiet descent of 1:30 to the old capital of the South, Champassak. Transfer by road to the fabulous site of Wat Phou, classified since March 2002 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This temple dates from the pre-Angkorian period. Lunch at a local restaurant in Champassak. After lunch departure by road to the largest of the islands in the southern Mekong, Khong, where you will spend the night. Dinner in a local restaurant. Night at the hotel.

  • Day 3
    Khong Island
    Breakfast at the hotel. You will leave by local boat to the peaceful island of Done Khone (1h30), formerly one of the terminals of the only railway built in Laos. Walk to the Lippi Falls. Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Khong

  • Day 4
    Khong Island – Khong Papheng – Pakse
    After breakfast at the hotel, drive towards Khone Papheng, on the Cambodian border, at the southern tip of the country to admire the largest Mekong waterfalls in Laos. Lunch at a local restaurant during visits. In the afternoon, departure by road to the village of Ban Kiet Ngong for an elephant ride of 2:30 to the site of Mount Assa and through forest and village. Then you will continue to Pakse with a stop at the exotic evening market. Dinner in a local restaurant. Night at the hotel.

    Pakse – Bolovens Highlands – Tad Lo – Tad Fan – Pakse
    Breakfast at the hotel, departure for a tour of the Bolovens Highlands with a visit to a coffee plantation and a tea plantation and falls of Tad Lo. Breakfast in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will continue to falls. Back on Pakse. Dinner in a local restaurant. Night at the hotel

  • Day 6
    Pakse – Flight for Luang Prabang
    Breakfast at the hotel. You will visit the temple of Wat Luang which includes a school of monks in a period building. Today, you will also visit a village specialized in sandstone sculpture. You will take a short walk to see people carving the Buddhas in nature. From there, you can also visit a village where people make fabrics by their traditional method. You will end with a panoramic view of the Mekong. Breakfast in a local restaurant. Then transfer to Pakse Airport for your flight to Luang Prabang. (Flight  QV 514   PKZ   LPQ    1620    1800 Monday – Wedsnesday – Friday) On arrival, welcome by your guide and transfer to your hotel. Visit the Hmong Market where you will find ethnic handicrafts. Dinner in a local restaurant. Night at the hotel.

  • Day 7
    Luang Prabang
    Full day tour of Luang Prabang. Capital of the kingdom of Lane Xang until the middle of the 15th century, Luang Prabang will amaze you with its many temples, its enchanting setting at the edge of the Mekong River, its rhythm of peaceful life, its colonial-style buildings, Mount Phousi ... The tour begins by the discovery of the Royal Palace, now converted into a National Museum where you will admire the Pra Bang, gold Buddha who gave his name to the city, the attributes of royal power, bronze drums, etc ... You will continue with Wat Mai, a temple famous for its gilded bas-reliefs counting the life of one of the reincarnations of the Buddha. It is in this monastery that the image of Prabang is exposed on the occasion of the festivals of Pimai, New Year Laotian. Then the Wat Sene, whose golden facade instantly catches the eye, finally you will admire the splendor of Vat Xieng Thong, richly decorated and located at the confluence of the Nam Khan and Mekong. Breakfast in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit Vat Visoun, completely rebuilt from Delaporte's sketches following the invasion, looting and destruction of the city in 1887 by the "Black Pavilions", pirates coming from the South of France.   • Day 8
    Luang Prabang – Kuang Si – Luang Prabang
    Optional: very early in the morning, around dawn, you can see the long lines of Bonzes coming out of their pagoda and walk the streets to receive food offerings from the faithful. A unique show that takes place every day of the year...

    After breakfast, you will pay tribute to the tomb of Henri Mouhot. Then, visit a village of weavers as well as artisanal mulberry paper workshops in Xang Khong. Lunch in Luang Prabang. In the afternoon, excursion to Kuang Si Falls, south of Luang Prabang with stops in 2 ethnic villages along the way. Possibility to swim on site (bring swimsuit and towels) and explore the surroundings.

    In the late afternoon, you cross the Mekong you climb the steps of Wat Chompet to have a beautiful view of Luang Prabang at sunset. Dinner in a local restaurant. Night at the hotel.

    Luang Prabang – Pak Ou – Luang Prabang
    Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the river pier near Wat Xieng Thong. Boarding a slow boat that will take you to Pak Ou, caves located at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Ou River the two caves, also called Tham Ting by the locals, and are home to thousands of Buddha statues of different sizes. The caves are the subject of processions and pilgrimages during great festivities. Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Night at the hotel.
