  • Day 1
    Arrival in Hanoï
    Arrival at Noi Bai airport. Transfer to the hotel.

    Visit of Hanoi "The city located on the Red River". Walk in the residential area where are the former Palace of the Governor General of Indochina, the house and the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, the single pillar pagoda. Then the temple of Mount Jade, ride rickshaw in the old district guilds.

    Lunch and dinner in town. Night at the hotel.

  • Day 2
    Hanoï : Visit of the city
    Departure for the perfume pagoda, one of the most beautiful sites of Vietnam. On the side of a limestone mountain are perched pagodas and temples whose architecture blends perfectly with a very lush nature. Depending on the itinerary, from the pier, a paddling sampan takes you to the Yen River in 1 hour at the foot of the Perfume Mountain, but according to the rules of the pilgrimage, you have to make a stop at temple of the Presentations to ask the genius-guardian of the places permission to continue the journey. Then it will take you 3 hours to climb up the stairs and reach the pagoda of the Scented Footprint, a huge cave where stalactites and stalagmites form candelabra and altars.

    Lunch on the spot. Return to Hanoi. Night at the hotel.

  • Day 3
    Hoa Binh – Mai Chau

    Departure for Hoa Binh, a road that crosses beautiful landscapes of mountains planted with tea trees. Continue to Mai Chau. We leave definitely the flat country delta for the mountainous region. The first rice terraces appear, lined with banana groves. The habitat is also changing radically. The countryside is dotted with thatched cottages, among which the Muongs house, which is recognizable by its sloping roof and low stilts.

    Continuation of the road and arrival to the valley of Mai Chau around noon, serene and splendid, below the road: it is a beautiful puzzle that looms the rice fields cultivated by white Thais, whose hamlets are scattered around the borough. Visit of the two villages Van and Lake. The expert fingers of white Thai women perform all kinds of weavings. Those in their group are based on combinations of lozenges or variations on wild bristles.

    Lunch, dinner and night at the inhabitant (summary comfort). In the evening: show with dances to Khene sound, and tasting of rice alcohol.

  • Day 4
    Mai Chau – Hoa Lu – Tam Coc

    Departure for Hoa Lu, one of the ancient capitals of Vietnam in the 10th century. Visit of the commemorative temples dedicated to Kings Dinh and Le. Then climb the steps that climb to the top of Mount Ma Yen where we kiss the site. Up there rests King Dinh whose oldest royal burial preserved in Vietnam. Road to Tam Coc, the course is beautiful in an amazing setting of hills and karst peaks where appear and disappear a small river.

    Lunch at Tam Coc.

    After a 3-hour boat trip on the Ngo Dong River that winds between karst hills and rice fields in a wonderful landscape "Bay Ha Long Land". Walk east to Bich Dong, the Jade cave which is a beautiful half-built temple, half-carved on the side of the hills (It was here the filming of the film Indochina).

    Tam Coc – Hai Phuong
    Departure for Phat Diem, the most beautiful cathedral of the country built in 1891 of Sino-Vietnamese style, very remarkable for its materials (marble, granite and wood). Lunch along the way. Continue to Hai Phong via Nam Dinh, Thai Binh. Short stop at Keo Pagoda in the middle of the countryside. It is built in the 17th century. It is simple, ample and rustic; but it is remarkable with its bell tower, an impressive wooden structure.

    Arrival at Hai Phong, the French colonial style city well known for its flamboyant streets and avenues. Visit the Hang Pagoda. Dinner in town and night at the hotel.

  • Day 6
    Hai Phong – Cat Ba island
    After breakfast, departure by ferry boat to Cat Ba Island. Cat Ba National Park encompasses evergreen tree forests on 331 m elevations, wet forests at the foot of hills and coastal mangroves, plus numerous small freshwater lakes, beaches and sand and coral reefs offshore. It is inhabited by 28 species of mammals, 37 species of birds, 20 species of reptiles and 200 species of fish. You will also find a tree of a rare species "trees with chopsticks". It is so named because its wood, responsive to food poisons, was used to make baguettes used in court, eternal field of intrigues.

    Arrival and visit of the natural park of Cat Ba. Lunch and dinner in town. Night at the hotel.

    Cat Ba Island – Ha Long

    In the morning visit the fishing port and Cat Ba fish market. Departure by ferry boat to Halong Bay - arriving in Halong Bay (around noon), you change from traditional junk and unforgettable cruise on Ha Long Bay "8th Wonder of the World" with its thousands of Islands, islets that emerge from the water taking fantastic forms. Explore Halong Bay on the Oriental Sails Cruise - one of the best 3-star cruises in Halong Bay.

    08:00 - 08:30 Departure in 3.5 hours at Hon Gai International Port, visit the Oriental Sails JSC Private Lounge - The OS Lounge.
    12:30 - 13:00 Welcome aboard, embark on oriental sails followed by a cruise briefing.
    13:00 - 15:30 Enjoy local seafood while Eastern Sails sail along the limestone islands of Bai Tu Long Bay.
    15:30 - 16:30 Visit of the fishing village

    They are interested in local daily life: Take a trip by wooden oar boat (about 45 minutes) around the fishing village of Vung Vieng - one of the largest fishing villages in Halong Bay to see the life of local fishermen. The village is located in a closed lagoon, surrounded by mountains, excellent facilities for good photos. It is a chance to know better the daily life of the fishermen of the village. After the visit, you can swim around the boat.

    16:30 - 17:30 Come back to Les Voiles Orientales and get some rest while the sun begins to set.
    17:30 - 19:00 Enjoy Happy Hour at the bar and on the solarium and join our cooking class with Oriental Sails Chef
    19:00 Dinner is served. Participation in other activities, night squid fishing or singing activities are available until 22:00

    Ha Long – Hanoi – Train of night for Lao Cai

    06:30 - 07:00 Start your day with a Tai Chi exercise on the terrace.
    07:00 - 09:00 Catch the morning view on the seascapes with a cup of tea or coffee, have breakfast cruising to Thien Canh Son Cave.
    09:00 - 09:30 Visit Thien Canh Son Cave - the medium-sized and less visited cave in Bai Tu Long Bay
    09:30 - 10:00 Restitution of the cabins. Luggage can be delivered to reception.
    10:00 - 11:00 Return to the port. Have lunch on board.
    12: 00: Landing of the eastern sails
    12:00 - 16:30: Return to Hanoi ..

    Lao Cai – Sa Pa
    Meet at Lao Cai station and transfer to Sapa. Arriving at Sapa, the French settlers, attracted by the climate and the beauty of the landscape, had made Sapa a mountain resort. The city is located at 1650m, at the foot of Mount Fanxipan highest point of Vietnam at 3142m.

    After breakfast, start visiting Sapa by the Dragon Maw Hill, the Orchid Garden, the old Sapa Church, the Market ...

    Sa Pa

    Walking day from Sapa to Ta Van and Lao Chai villages. You will have beautiful rice terraces to see throughout the trip.

  • Day 11
    Sa Pa – Bac Ha – Lao Cai – Night train for Hanoi

    Departure for the small town of Son La - the city where different minorities meet. There are Picturesque, authentic and colorful: the Weekly Bac Ha fair being held on Sunday mornings. Between 7 am and 9 am, roads and mountain tracks are very lively. There, a peasant pulls his donkey who does not want to move forward. Here, another holds a piglet at the end of a leash by pushing it with a bamboo whip. Others, wiser, prefer to carry the little pigs on the platform to avoid losing weight on the way to the fair. Some go by couple, the woman carrying on the back the stack of hoods that she braided, the man the jerry can of alcohol that he distilled. They put on their best clothes. Turbans of all shapes, red, blue or black, cross simpler chests planted with fresh tea leaves or embellished with silver coins. The colorful H'mong women and girls have donned their finest skirts, all folded, swinging right and left at every step, making grandmothers look like children. The tunics are finely embroidered and the aprons shimmering.

    The sellers offer basic necessities (groceries, books and school supplies, toiletries, haberdashery), relayed, according to rotations which differ, by the peasants who came to sell their production (vegetables, breeding, handicrafts). Finally women calculate the benefit of the day or compare the products, the girls are beautiful, the men clink at the rice alcohol while discussing horses and land. After lunch in Bac Ha, walk to visit hamlets around Bac Ha: Ban Pho 1 and Ban Pho 2, inhabited by ethnic H'mong variegated. Visit the abandoned house of Huang A Tuong, a former H'mong chief.

    Dinner at Lao Cai. Then transfer to Lao Cai Station and take the night train Lao Cai - Ha Noi / train KING EXPRESS (or LIVITRANS EXPRESS or CHAPA EXPRESS) - Cabin with 4 berths for categories STANDARD & SUPERIOR; Cabin with 2 berths for DELUXE category / Departure 19h 30. Night on board.

    Arrival at Hanoi station around 5:00 am Reception and transfer to the hotel. After breakfast, departure to the west of Ha Noi crossing a beautiful countryside of Tonkin. Visit the Tay Phuong Pagoda, which means "The West Looking Pagoda", famous for 76 statues carved in jackfruit wood, of great artistic value dating back to the 17th century. Continue to Thay Pagoda, also known as the Heavenly Blessing Pagoda, one of the most revered pagodas in the region.
